Doug’s favorite eldest son Jerry Elliott from Norborne, MO and favorite daughter Shawnda Elliott of Kansas City, KS. ![]() Doug’s children were born from his marriage to Karen “Kay” Elliott (deceased). Doug admired Kevin for his artistic ability and wished he would have known his namesake Nevin Ray Elliott, born a few months after his passing.ĭoug's life was complemented by his loving family that remained in the great state of Missouri. Doug considered Buck to be more like his father than a grandfather.ĭoug also lost his brother Kevin Ray Elliott in 1995 and always knew he would see him again. Buck taught him to have a positive attitude and always treat others well. Doug tributes Buck for giving him the tools, guidance, and inspiration to work hard and be the best man he could be. Doug had a special bond with his maternal grandparents, Maddie, and John “Buck” Douglas, both deceased. Doug’s love and admiration for his mom were present in everything Doug did, molding him into the man he was. He was born to Maurice Jackson (deceased) and Victoria (Elliott) Douglas (deceased). Doug was always ready for the next road trip or family adventure, either by plane, boat, RV, or car to places like Hawaii, Jamaica, or Paradise Point welcoming the adventure from the life in Carson City.ĭoug’s life started in Richmond, MO. As a family we were able share all of his glory during his heyday and had the honor of lovingly supporting him physically during their last years together. Together they raised their son Nevin Ray Elliott of Carson City. At the time, Doug was working security at the Job Corp Center in Minot, ND. He swooned Mary by singing in her ear some Al Green melodies. He shared his life for the last 25 years with Mary DeLorme, also of Carson City. Along with all the people he touched, his proudest moments in life were with his family and friends. He spent nearly 50 years in Missouri and 24 years in Nevada. Leaving behind loving families in Carson City, Nevada, and the Richmond, MO area, his family was not ready to see him go, but Doug was tired and needed to find his peaceful place with his maker.ĭoug was born June 27, 1947, in Richmond, MO.
